Amul is one of the most popular brands in India and it has been serving dairy products for seven decades. Apart from the excellent quality of products, Amul has been honouring iconic personalities, who have given it all in their respective sectors, with topical advertisements. Amul used a caricature of Padukone wearing an elegant gown, celebrating her prestigious moment as ‘Deepicannes.' The dairy giant even used a quirky tagline - “every jury loves it”. 

The Bajirao Mastani actress celebrated her feat as she took to her Instagram stories to repost the topic advertisement and added a smiling emoji to it. 

The latest development comes after she was announced as a presenter at the Oscars ceremony for 2023. To recognise her achievement, dairy brand Amul decided to honour her through a quirky creative topical advertisement. 


After making her mark in Bollywood, Deepika Padukone is now creating waves across the world. She recently became the first Indian to unveil the trophy at the FIFA world cup held in Qatar. She was also signed by the popular fashion house Louis Vuitton as the face of a brand globally and last year, she was announced as a member of the prestigious jury at the Cannes Film Festival. 

Coming back to the advertisement, the official Instagram handle of Amul India shared a caricature of Deepika Padukone with the Amul girl mascot. They both were seen enjoying a buttered toast and were dressed up as if attending the Oscars 2023 ceremony. 

"ToastKar for Deepika," read the header text in Amul's post, a clever pun on the word 'Oscar'. Meanwhile, the tagline read, "Amul: Best Butter." "Deepika Padukone to be a presenter at the 95th Academy Awards," they wrote in the caption.

Amul is hailed for its quirky marketing strategy and its witty topicals are widely regarded as they regularly go viral and feature a variety of issues from the fields of entertainment, sports, and business news. 

Earlier, the brand had honoured Deepika Padukone and Shah Rukh Khan for the success of their film Pathaan which was released on January 26, 2023. The film went on to become the highest grossers in the history of Indian cinema.
